For all you electronics experts out there, I've got some questions for you. I'm installing a dual source pickup (mic/UST) and endpin preamp. In light of my limited electronics experience (very limited..... OK none) I'm trying to figure out how the three components interact with each other. Each of the components is from a different manufacturer (client supplied), so the installation instructions are of limited value. The preamp is a dtar Timberline, and I've emailed Rick Turner, but so far no response. I'm ready to close up the box, but I'm hesitant to do so until I've resolved this.

Pertinent information:

Preamp: dtar Timberline
Mic: AKG 416
UST: Fishman (I think)

If anyone has any experience installing something like this, I'd appreciate your advice.

I am no expert but the Shadows I have experience with have different input jacks for Mic and UST and is clearly marked. I am not acquainted with the Timberline but would think they would be the same. On the Shadow there is a control pot to mix the inputs. If the Timberline has two inputs I would assume it as well has a pot to mix the input levels.MichaelP38460.6107638889

If it is a dtar Timberline preamp, I would guess that the under the saddle pickup might be a Timberline pickup. I found instructions on the web here:Timberline instructions. Maybe they will help. If the preamp is the rectangular box type attached to the jack, the board inside may be marked to show you how to attach the mic. Most of the ones I've worked with are marked.Neil38460.7866435185
